FIC staff members paid tribute to Genocide victims at Nyarubuye Genocide Memorial Site

April 28, 2023 FIC senior officials and staff paid tribute to Genocide victims and honored the resilience of survivors of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi for the 29th time (Kwibuka29) at Nyarubuye genocide memorial site, a resting place for more than 58,000 Genocide victims. It is located in Nyarutunga cell, Nyarubuye sector in Kirehe District.

FIC official called upon all staff to always learn from the history and preserve the Rwandan unity to fight against genocide denial and hatred so that they build a dignified nation.

Nyirakamana Florentine, the Genocide Memorial and Site Management Officer showed how the genocide ideology destroyed the society leading to the genocide perpetrated against the Tutsi in 1994 and explained how it took place in Nyarubuye.

She urged FIC staff to make good choices and take a lead in fighting genocide negationism and revisionism, eradicating its ideology and all its manifestations for the Rwanda’s sustainable development.
